VI INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR YOUNG MUSICIANS "ZHAS TALANT-2016".
The organizer of the contest – Almaty Musical College named after Tchaikovsky – UNESCO Club Candidate

The contest "ZhasTalant - 2016" is dedicated to the 1000th Anniversary of Almaty city and the 25th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The contestants and their teachers will see the beautiful ancient city Almaty - the pearl of the East, they will get acquainted with its history and attractions, visit the mountains of Ile Alatau.
Established in 1932 Almaty College of Music named after Tchaikovsky is the institution, which laid the foundation of musical education in Kazakhstan. On its basis were opened Abay National Theatre and Opera House in 1934, the first music school named after Amre Kashaubaev and the State Philharmonic named after Zhambyl in 1935, the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory in 1944, and the other musical education and concert organizations of the republic.
The College is proud of its graduates - musicians with an international reputation, such as singers Yermek Serkebayev, Alibek Dnishev, Abdullin brothers, conductors Fuat Mansurov, NurgisaTlendiyev, Gaziz Dugashev, Shamgon Kazhgaliyev, musicologists Anatoly Kelberg, Yuri Aravin, Artur Platonov, artists NagimaYeskalieva, Birzhan Khasangaliev, Yuri Loza, Sardor Milano, Vladimir Mikloshich.
Within 80 years of productive work, the college received recognition as the leader among other colleges of the country in preparation of the winners of national and international competitions. Also it is a powerful international cluster of musical art, republican methodical center, which conducts an active concert activity. There are students from Kazakhstan, Russia, China, Mongolia, South Korea, Japan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan who get education here.
It is the sixth time when ALMA MATER of Kazakh professional art - Almaty College of Music named Tchaikovsky meets the music schools of Almaty and Almaty region, but this time they are joined by young musicians from different countries. Contestants will gather in open and fair musical competition to contest for the title of laureate.
Main goals:
1. Creating the conditions for a meeting, friendly and creative communication between children from different countries;
2. Exchange of experiences on the international level and improving professional skills of the participants and teachers;
3. Revealing of young talents. Encouragment the interest of young generation to the art of music;
4. Enabling the realization of creative potential of young musicians and increasing their level of performance;
5. Professional orientation of talented children and youth;
6. Acquaintance with city of Almaty, its history and sights.
General characteristics of the competition:
1. International Competition for Young Musicians "Zhastalant" will take place on May7-8-9, 2016 in Almaty College of Music named Tchaikovsky;
2. The contest will be held in the following nominations: "Piano", "The violin, violoncello", "Folk Instruments", "Wind group and percussion instruments";
3. In the frameworks of the competition the Olympiad in theoretical subjects will be held;
4. The competition involves students of musical schools in 7-year bonds, art schools, aesthetic schools, clubs and studios at the Houses of children's creativity, kindergartens, primary schools, children involved in music with private tutor.
Rules of competition
1. The competition invites young musicians from 5 to 17 years.
2. The competition is held in 3 age-groups.
3. All contestants compete in a single round.
4. "Solo instrumental performance":
First (younger) group – pupils of 1-2 grades;
The second (middle) group - pupils of 3-4 grades;
The third (older) group - pupils of 5-6-7 grades.
5. Contestants appear on stage in the order of application.
6. Contestants who voluntarily participate in the Olympiad on theoretical subjects, prelimiarily submitting an application, are tapped first.
7. The jury consists of experienced teachers of the college. The Chairman of the Jury will be an experienced foreign musician.
8. The jury evaluates the performances of the contestants on the proven and well-established 15-point system. Evaluation parameters: technique - 5 points, virtuosity - 5 points, the style - 5 points.
9. The award ceremony and concert of laureates will be held in the Grand Hall of the Almaty Musical College named after Tchaikovsky on May 9th, 2016.

"String instruments", "Russian folk instruments" and "Wind group and percussion instruments" - 16:00;
"Piano" – 18.00.
10.All participants must attend the closing ceremony of the competition.
11.Laureates of the 1st prize will be notified about the award on 8th May and may by their wish perform in the gala concert on May 9th and in this case they rehearse in the Grand Hall on May 9th before the beginning of the concert in their nomimations.
12. The Organizing Committee has the right to photograph, to shoot competition, to make the press coverage, to publish photos and methodical literature on the results of the contest.
13.Any organizations, companies and individuals in coordination with the Organizing Committee may establish their own prizes and awards, which are awarded in accordance with the wishes of the founders.

The competition is held on self-financing condition, payment for participation is 15000 tenge.
For nonresident, foreign participants and accompanying persons, who are need an accommodation, there is hostel «AMIGO», which is nearby the college. The address: Kazakhstan, Almaty, st.Manas 9 b, +77273799333, +77072099333 www.amigo-hostel.kz instagram: amiga_hostel_alma. Besides this option, there is a possibility to rent the clean and comfortable apartment or other hotels. If accommodation is necessary, the contestant must notify the organizing committee about it.

- From the airport, bus №92, busstop "Manasstreet ".
- From the railway station "Almaty - 1", bus №34, busstop "Manas"street ".
- From the railway station "Almaty - 2", trolleybus №5, №6, busstop "Manasstreet ".
- From the stop "street Manas" you should walk 20 meters in the course of transport to the Manas street, cross the road and go down (back to the mountains) 15 meters to college - Manas, st 13 - the second building below Abay st. The hostel is located just below the college (Manas st. 9a).
- The fare on the bus, trolley, subway is 80 tenge. Some money should be exchanged at the airport or train station.
- In case if you need to be met, the contestant must notify it in the application.

Participants from Kazakhstan must pay for auditions to the account of the Almaty College of Music named after Tchaikovsky up to 8th April. Without a scanned copy of the payment receipt application and other documents are not accepted. Payment is made to a bank account (see below).
Participants from other countries pay15,000 tenge on arrival to college in the department of Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan, located nearby. The volunteers of the Organizing Committee of the contest will help you.
Nutrition on its own expense is organized in the college canteen. You can eat at the nearby eateries (the volunteers will help you).

Awarding
Winners will be awarded with diplomas and souvenirs.
Diploma holders obtain honorary certificates and souvenirs.
Other participants receive certificates and souvenirs.
The number of prizes is not limited.
Teachers and accompanists of laureates, winners and participants receive diplomas.
Children's musical schools, preparing the laureates, are awarded with complimentary letters.
The jury has the right not to award all the places, or share a place among the contestants.
The jury's decision is final and not is the subject to appeal.
