The Moldavian Federation of UNESCO Clubs was founded in 2000 at the initiative of first UNESCO Clubs, projects of writer Renata Verejanu (member founder of the World Organization of Talented Children, European Academy of Civil Society, International Union of Creation People).
MFUC is active member since 2000 of the World Federation and, since 2001, founding member of the European Federation of UNESCO Clubs.
The main objectives of MFUC result from the aims of UNESCO and Universal Declaration of Human Rights. One of these aims is supporting of new ways of cooperation between cultures and people, education of responsibility towards cultural heritage.
Some of the MFUC main objectives:
- Promotion of culture of peace and non violence, expanding crossborder connections, intellectual cooperation, spreading education, culture and science,
- Informing UNESCO Clubs and its members, public opinion on the main objectives and programs of UNESCO, and their achievement,
- Promotion and founding of new UNESCO Clubs, offering logistic support for new clubs, involving all members to developing of common projects in the areas of art, literature, science, education.
- Celebration international days, weeks, proclaimed by United Nations, and also local personalities, well known worldwide for their work for the benefit of mankind
